Biography

Afterthought formed in the eighties after Mr. Hill and Mr. Buttigieg met through a music magazine. One was very familiar with the other’s music, in fact a fan, the other after hearing some tapes was instantly interested in starting working on a project as soon as some time in schedule permitted. Therefore, Afterthought was born.

From the first note of James Hill's trumpet, like color paint brush strokes on Ray Buttigieg's canvas of ambient science, the end result became more like audio paintings. Between New York and San Francisco, ideas were exchanged, work done, reworked, and from Cykxsoundlab to TCAB Studio, the monitor speakers in both studios told no lie, but pure elegance and brutally honest interpretation of isolation, sadness, pomp, and consolation.
